Iris Apfel For MAC

A colour collection inspired by a rare bird who has always been ahead of her time, the 90-year-old fashion icon, Mrs. Iris Apfel. Subject of her own exhibit at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and larger-than-life star, Apfel boldly mixed flea market finds with haute couture decades before doing it was considered de rigueur. I Love Peaked Shoes

The KERO company has a long and solid history. Yrjö Kero founded the company in 1929 together with Karl Wälivaara and made it his life’s mission to create the thriving company that developed into the still-thriving company culture in the small village of Sattajärvi, 20 kilometres south of Pajala in Sweden’s far north. Kero Original is the northernmost shoemaker still operating in Sweden.

Today Kero AB is owned by three related owners from three different families. Despite the colourful history of the tannery and shoemakers, the company has never stopped running nor has it ever stopped producing peaked shoes.

Need to moisturize your lips?

When the weather gets colder, I tend to get dry lips. Last year I tried lipstick from Make Up Store, and for me, they are absolutely amazing. Lipstick is normally dry, but the ones from MUS are enriched with vitamins and extracts, and do not only moisturize, but also deliver rich color and smooth application.

Key ingredients
  • Avocado oil: Gives a slightly oily surface that protects against the environment, keeps in moisture. Softening, strengthening, especially good for dry and sensitive skin.
  • Beeswax: Softens, protects, doesn’t clog pores.
  • Vitamin E: (Tocopheryl Acetate) Binds and maintains moisture.
  • Jojoba: Moisturizes and locks in moisture.
  • Shea butter: Softening, moisturizing, protecting and anti inflammatory.

När mammor dör,
då förlorar man
ett av vädersträcken.
Då förlorar man
Vartannat andetag:
då förlorar man en glänta.
När mammor dör,
växer det sly överallt.

Get Your Skin Ready For Summer

Soft, smooth, supple, glowing. It’s how we want our skin to look with summer around the corner. Give your skin a boost from the inside!

Vitamin B Though all vitamins are essential for the body, vitamin B is most essential for the skin. This is because vitamin B makes collagen and elastin which keep the skin supple. Cereals and whole grains are rich in vitamin B and therefore should be included in every meal. Some foods which are considered to be high in some of the Vitamin B group are turkey, liver, liver oil, tuna, chili peppers, lentils, bananas, potatoes, and tempeh (soy based). Other meats, dairy products and eggs are high in vitamin B12. Oats, barley, wheat bran, avocado, salmon, Brazil nuts (and other nuts) are more good sources of B vitamins.

Essential Fatty Acids Both Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids help to retain moisture in the skin. Olives and olive oil, avocado and avocado oil, fish oils, and nuts are rich in these nutrients.

Vogue Russia May 2011 - Sunshine Lady

Pixelfolk Bag by The Beta Version

Kate Moss in 3D

Created by AnOther Magazine with artist and filmmaker Baillie Walsh, KM3D-1 stars Kate Moss. The work continues Moss and Walsh's journey into experimental, multi-dimensional image-making, first seen in their legendary holographic film for Alexander McQueen's autumn/winter 2006 show.

In this movie, she plays Kali, the powerful Hindu goddess. “She’s magical,” Walsh says. “The reason that Kate has gone on and on is not just because of her beauty, but because of what’s inside.”

Kate wears sequin embroidered jacket from Mairead Lewin Vintage with gold bikini bottoms from Rellik and all jewellery from Pebble and Erickson Beamon.

Ombre [Ohm-bre]

"Ombre hair" is one of the big hair trends 2011. Its basically just a graduation of color, from light to dark, or dark to light - looking like your hair has grown out and you have done nothing to it. Some fans of this look is Lily Aldridge, Drew Barrymore, Erin Wasson, Nicole Richie, Rachel Bilson and the pioneer Alexa Chung.

Wanna try? Follow these simple guidelines:
  • Keep in mind that ombré works best with medium to long hair.
  • Starting with the darkest desired shade at the top, you need to go three shades lighter to get to the end.
  • Avoid going blonde if you have olive to dark skin, as your ends might look white.
  • Even if the hairstylist suggests some colors, make sure that the final look isn't very edgy. Here is a suggested palette if you're a brunette: Start with a dark chocolate and end with a light walnut brown.
  • Even if it's a playful look you're after, try not to go too far with the dyeing. Make it easy, fun and natural.
  • Protect your hair with serums and conditioners because it can dry out from the lightening process.

The Holstee Manifesto

This is your life. Do what you love, and do it often.
If you don’t like something, change it. If you don’t like your job, quit. If you don't have enough time, stop watching TV. If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love. Stop over-analyzing; life is simple. All emotions are beautiful. When you eat, appreciate every last bite. Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself. Some opportunities only come once: seize them. Open your mind, arms, and heart to new things and people. We are united in our differences. Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring passion with them. Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them, so go out and start creating. Life is short. Live your dream, and wear your passion.

Lara Bingle for Oyster #91

Issue 91 of Oyster is out right this very second! But you’ll have to make a decision first, because Lara Bingle is featured on two different covers. Photographers Stephen Ward and Georges Antoni have offered their different interpretations of the somewhat controversial ‘It girl’ with whom Australia entertains a love/hate relationship.

Mercer Street, NYC - Pixel Pour 2.0

Pixel Pour 2.0 is what people are calling this recent urban installation on Mercer Street In SoHo in New York City. Believed to be the work of artist Kelly Goeller, this splashing sculpture is the second such piece of its kind. In 2008, Goeller installed the original Pixel Pour, seemingly spilling digital water from an existing city pipe.
